Dear Motorcycle Studies Scholars, and our Motorcycle Studies Community,

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the cancellation of the 2020 International Journal of Motorcycle Studies Conference to be held at University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS) July 23-26, 2020.

With the current moment of uncertainty, amidst a global pandemic- the COVID-19 crisis- it seems most likely that our educational institutions will be affected by this crisis well into the summer. It is hard to gauge when our lives, jobs, social connections, institutions will be back to normal. So, the IJMS board has decided to cancel the conference and put our efforts into a special Conference Summer issue of the journal and begin the planning for the 2021 conference.

The editorial board would like to invite you to propose an essay, round table, virtual presentation, or artwork (e.g. photo essay, short film, etc.) to celebrate our milestone anniversary- 5-10-15 in 2020 (what would have been 5 years of our conferences at UCCS, 10 years of our annual conference, and 15 years of the journal). A more detailed CFP will be posted in the next month.

For more information about submitting work to the journal please contact our editorial board at : info(at)motorcyclestudies(dot)org.

Again, I want to thank our amazing conference committee: Lisa Gaber and Alex Ilyasova. Special thanks to the editorial board for helping the journal continue and supporting the conference every year- John Sumser, Caryn Simonson, Suzanne Ferris, Steven Alford, James Butler. A special thanks to Tim Fransen our web designer and chief information technologist. And finally, I would like to thank all of you- scholars, experts, enthusiasts, writers, riders- the community that makes the journal and our annual conference possible.

I look forward to connecting with you all virtually- this summer and in person next year.

Stay safe and healthy,

SIncererly,

Sheila Malone, PhD
